Service excellence plays a key role in enhancing tourism growth. Service excellence has been adopted as a national priority in South Africa, especially as we progress towards the 2010 event. In agreement with national stance, the Northern Cape accepted the challenge and decided to launch the first annual industry awards. |

Our tourism month activities included the launch of the annual tourism industry awards. This event will be hosted annually in September.
The objectives inline with national are as follows:
Objectives
To effectively enhance all stakeholders in the province to be committed and passionate towards their performance standards as well as towards customer relation focus.
To encourage organizations and individuals in the Northern Cape Province who are raising the level and standards of customer service to continue with their efforts and for those who are new to the industry, to express the importance of service levels within every market.
Enhance visitor experience increase and thereby encourage visitor growth
The key outcome is to boost the profitability within the Province through effective tourism.
To educate the consumer on service excellence and being great guests and hosts
To find existing shining examples of tourism establishments in SA who are raising the levels and standards of customer service
To give the visitor the Real experience of the Northern Cape.
To encourage the tourism industry to share ideas on improving service excellence levels.
To match the Real Tourism experience with Real Service Excellence
